40 minutes from Como by train, or 1 hour 10 minutes by car, Milan is a very feasible day trip. With world class museums, bars and restaurants, as well as the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele shopping arcade, there is plenty to do. Opera or ballet lovers can go to La Scala, and the magnificent Duomo, which also offers a chance to walk on the roof, is open all year round.
